Are you an energetic, self-motivated land surveyor? Gas Track Engineering Ltd. is seeking an experienced Survey Assistant to join our team!
In 2019 Gas Track Engineering was incorporated by a team of ambitious and enthusiastic owners looking to help with the ever-increasing need for tracking and reducing fugitive emissions. With years of experience across several industries offering gas leak detection and fugitive emissions management and professional land and construction surveys, we aim to support Canadian firms in attaining a cleaner, healthier environment. As part of the team, you will be responsible for assisting surveyors and helping to perform surveys of exceptional quality at Gas Track’s clients’ sites, facilities and properties.
The Role
Do you take pride in delivering exceptional quality and service with everything you do? We have an opening for a motivated, focused Survey Assistant position within Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing survey duties, operating GPS equipment, assisting with staking of boundaries, install survey posts, carrying survey equipment and participating in the safety program.

Desired Qualifications

Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Clean driver’s abstract

Excellent customer service skills

1-2 years of survey experience (Trimble R12, Data Collector, Line Locator)

Computer skills are an asset

Safety courses and related oilfield tickets are an asset; Gas Track can work with the right candidate to complete required courses

Willingness to train and be in the field for an extended period of time.

Excellent verbal and written communication and are comfortable communicating face to face, over the phone and in email

Participation in our safety program

Participation in our training program which includes both field and office training.

Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement fieldwork action plans

Uphold a positive company image with clients

Supplying the management team with reports and safety concerns

Utilize the company’s equipment for safe and accurate surveying

Quickly and accurately locate locations utilizing a data collector

Ability to drive and work for extended periods

Preparation for fieldwork and ensuring trucks inventory is maintained for service trips

Complete all paperwork and timesheets as required
